A new survey conducted by Prime Table Games in the United Kingdom has found that online casino fans are more than happy for the newly formed Gambling Commission to play a stronger role in the industry but are seeking more info about affiliates that service online casinos. Players at online casino sites also stated the need for more information on gambling sites is crucial before policies outlined in the Gambling Act are fully implemented by 2007. The survey found that 73 percent of online casino players feel that gambling sites should explicitly state whether or not their site is run by a third party provider.
30 percent of respondents stated they are opposed to online casino firms outsourcing their gaming operations. A staggering 81 percent admitted to being concerned about commission payments to online casino affiliates, stating that gaming sites should publish the fact that affiliates are receiving money for their services on their site. 44 percent of online casino fans also said they are less inclined to gamble at a site that affiliates are profiting from. 80 percent feel that licensing needs to be backed up by strong legislation. 67 percent of gamblers also stated they would prefer to play at a site approved by the Gambling Commission to operate in the UK rather than offshore gaming sites.
Derek Webb from Prime Table Games said the online casino survey proves that UK gambling fans have clear ideas on how online gaming should operate. He also stressed the important role the Gambling Commission must play in the online casino industry in order to make sure fans receive the support and security they deserve. |
